So Do You Have A Type?

So today I was thinking about types, you know, peoples preferences when it comes to dating. Some guys like the model type, the smart school girl, or the at home wifey. Some girls like the athletic jock, the gentle prince, or the bad boy.

I never really had a "type". I've dated all different kinds of people. Although, I realize of course everyone's not the same and some people have there set standards. I wonder, is it a physical, mental, or a mix of both attraction that leads people into dating a certain "type" & them not wanting to change. For example, take my homegirl for instance, recently I tried to hook her up. She's a sweet girl, but her attitude is a little spicy, all in all shes a good person & single. So, there's this guy I know, cool dude, REALLY patient, so I figured they'd just might work!

We'll this is how the convo with her went..

Me; hey I know this guy that's really cool, seems like ya'll would really work, I think ya'll would be a good fit for each other.

Her; Great! so tell me, tell me! You know how I like them, is he really built or medium built?

Me; uhh, naw not really

Her; oh. lol girl you so crazy, we'll got to go girl, talk to you later, bye!

..click..

That was it! lol She didn't even wanna try cause he wasn't her "type".

It made me think, if people were more open minded to dating outside of there comfort zone, would there be more successful couples?.. Or would it just backfire and jet set people right back into there failing and trailing dating routine?

*shrugs* who knows.

It's all on how open minded you are about dating, how much you're willing to compromise and having an understanding or idea on what type of person you see yourself being with in the future, but not necessarily having a specific robot built in your head already on how he or she has to be.

Remember people, no ONE is perfect, only one is perfect to you in your eyes.. & hopefully that person is perfect to you because of the love you have for that person & not for other reasons.

After reading this and thinking back on your own dating history, Do you realize you might have a "type?" & if so, would you be willing to step out of your norm & date someone you normally wouldn't?

Just my thoughts. ♥
