FOCUS. (with tips on how to do so, check link)

Do you ever feel like you're just stuck going round and round in a continuos circle? I think a lot of us hit a point in our life where we question our true purpose. You wonder, and you look around, pondering, second guessing. We'll let me bring you some comfort by saying I feel you, and you're not the only one, nor are you "lost", maybe just a little of track, but you're not lost.

One thing I really learned this year is how to stay grounded. I had a teacher that definitely went into depth on how important this is, and when I think back on those lessons I take a deep breath and try to regain control when I loose it. It is so important to know how to really be able to grasp your visions, hold on to them hard and stay focused, not allowing life's obstacles to disunite you from what's most important.

At the end of the day we all have our ups and down's. You must remain confident in yourself, in those who love you that have your best interest at hand, real family and friends, and GOD. If you're a spiritual person I recommend praying for guidance, it was advised to me and it does help tremendously. Believing is everything.  Most importantly, remember, YOU come first. It's a wonderful thing to help people out, but sometimes by doing so you can let yourself become engulfed in others schedules loosing site of your own. That's ok too, we get off track sometimes, just step back, and refocus.

Be careful where and when you allow anoesis to descend upon your mental...I'm guilty of this happening to often, a rarity for others, but I am a pisces. Stay grounded folks!

"MIDNIGHT EXPRESS" #RandomThoughts

Life... it has it's up's and down's, it's "when you think you are on the right track", and the "falling off the rail moments." But, regardless of the 'good' and the 'bad', at the end of the day I believe that it truly all does happen for a reason, and with that, a lesson is always to follow.
You can choose to bask in negativity, or learn how to realize that your glass is half full rather then half empty. Optimism.. is a word that is used by many, but followed by few... Does that make sense? What I mean is, a lot of people will "preach" about how positive or 'happy' they are in life, but deep down inside, they're bitter and empty.

I know it's not easy to always be optimistic, but one way I can tell you how is by appreciating what you DO have in life. The people, family, friends, those who support you, and yourself. You have to be happy with you before you can be truly happy in life. Love yourself, learn to appreciate you as a person, and also realize your "flaws" and try to improve them. No one is 'perfect' or better then the next. The little steps you take to becoming a better you the more you will receive and enjoy your fruit's of labor.

Right now I'm in a place where I do still see my dream (thank God), and I am still motivated to accomplish it all. I'm always up for a challenge, and I believe by doing just that, it'll also help towards your progression in life. Never stop, never settle. I do lose focus here and there, but I try to remain moving at a forward angle. I can honestly say that I am happy right now, so happy that I feel at peace, & this is a moment that I want to stop, look around, and appreciate it. The love, I feel it. It's a beautiful thing, and it does shift as you mature (that's a whole 'nother blog). For right now I just want to say Thank You. To everyone, for absolutely no reason, but just because, because I appreciate life, and all that comes with it.

Know that these are just my scattered thoughts of the moment, but for some reason I felt a need to jot them down..figured I might as well share... there's always somebody out there that can connect and relate, hopefully whoever they are, they got to read this. Keep going, never stop.

Looking forward to future lessons...

"You should just, sleep on it"

Making a hasty decision is one of the worst things you can do, especially if the options of the outcome from your decision can turn out to be bad, or worse.
My best advice would be to just, well, sleep on it. The way you are feeling when you're upset or angry might will sway you to think a certain way. It can be an argument, or debate, w/e the case is, if you become irate over a situation, your emotions will alter what you will say, trust and believe that if you weren't so upset, 80% of the time you wouldn't say those things in the first place.
Not only that, but sleeping on it gives you a real chance to think, once you awake you will notice that you are more calm, or at peace. It will allow you to truly judge the situation for what it is and decide the best outcome on what to say or do, and a lot of times you will awake realizing that the "problem" is possibly way smaller then you thought it was anyways.
On top of all that, you will feel no regret. Waking up and saying "So glad I didn't say that last night!" will prove this point. I include patience into one of the keys to life, when you're patient, it literally can make a world of a difference. Additionally, I KNOW that this is not as easy as it sounds, we all know sometimes it's hard to hold your tongue at times, but if you can find the strength to do it, it'll all be better in the end. It's not worth losing a relationship over you not being able to control your mouth at times where emotions are tender. So the next time you want to scream, yell,
or say something crazy to someone, just say "you know what, we'll talk about this tomorrow" walk away, and sleep on it!

"The 7 keys to life"

The other night I was in the dark randomly thinking (like I usually do) & thought about how just having an optimistic view on life helps you to better yourself not just as a person, but a person who can say that they are happy with, & enjoying life. How many people can truly say that they wake up in the morning , everyday, happy?

I've noticed a lot of people complain about ther issues, situations, problems, world ending etc.. I get it, but EVERYBODY has problems, it’s apart of life, but instead of learning from them, appreciating the lesson learned, & growing, people tend to hang on to the result in the worst way. Not all, but few. So hopefully this will help some of those few that are a little lost out there.

I really believe that there are certain keys to life, key’s that unlock those doors to living a better life. Now I don’t want you to look at these keys as “rules” to live by, but more so of a guideline, just something to help keep you grounded.

  1. Attitude - How many times have we met the beautiful but ugly man or woman? The person who can be outrageously gorgeous, but appear to be so unattractive because of there attitude. Having a bad attitude turns people off & draws them away. The not so attractive can be attractive just by having that bright attitude. It’ll make a person shine a little more & standout in a room. People will gravitate towards you, & want to be around you.
  2. Kindness-  Just having an emotionally sympathetic nature can touch so many people in so many ways. A simple act of kindness really does have a chain reaction. Randomly giving a stranger a compliment, helping an elderly woman with her groceries,  w/e the case, you can literally change somebody’s day. I believe you do unto others as you would have them do unto you.
  3. Appreciation- Although we were not all born with silver spoons in our mouths, we were given life…period. Really think about it, how many times does the day just go by & you don’t appreciate what you DO have. Lungs to breath, leg’s to walk, eye’s to see, there are people who don’t even have that. So the next time you rant on about not having that new prada bag, know that there’s a child in the hospital with days left because they’re sick with cancer. I don’t mean to rain on peoples parade, I’m just really keeping it all the way real, & I think sometimes we need that harsh reality check.
  4. Confidence- No one can make you feel down or bad about yourself without you letting them. Having self confidence is like having that brick wall with huge letters on it spray painted in black stating “I’m the sh*t, & you can’t get over me”. Now realize, there is a thin line between being confident and cocky, so don’t trip on it. That can definitely make the difference between a person being sexy and a person being annoying. But by all means, you are who you are, be proud of you, walk tall, & pat yourself on the back, because there is no one like you, and you have that special thing that the next person doesn't.
  5. Responsibility- “Having a capacity for moral decisions and therefore accountable; capable of rational thought or action.” I also coincide being responsible with being patient. Need I say more? Handle your business.
  6. Compromise- Ahh… Venus vs. Mars.. Does it have to be a battle? Honestly, not really, at least not in my opinion. Being able to compromise with others takes practice, i'll admit. It’s like a skill. If you’re able to back down or be lenient on a decision in order to make not only the other person but yourself happy, then my friend, let me hand you this gold trophy! Compromising seems to be one of the most difficult things to do, especially for people who have the “I always win” attitude. But if you concur this key & truly learn how to use it, you might be surprised to how situations can actually work in your favor.
  7. Communication-  Is definitely the magna cum laude of  keys! I can bet that 99.9% of you that read this have heard the famous quote “Communication is key”. It really is! I cannot express it enough, if you can communicate and get your point of view across and understood, then most of the time that’s half the battle! From work, (“closed mouths don’t get fed”), to personal relationships, (being able to express yourself eliminating confusion.) It just makes things so much easier when you know how and when to say what you need to say. Communication is not only key, but it’s the tool to building the base, the foundation, the ground to your structure!

At the end of the day, these key’s will help. Personal life, business, w/e the case. Just remember them and use them, apply them to daily life, let them help you learn to live life & love! Open yourself & your mind.

“Privacy- Is there a limit?”

So they say when you’re in a relationship there’s supposed to be no boundaries to what you share with your significant other, you know, the whole “now that we’re together we are one, what‘s mine is yours, whats yours is mine, including our minds and tales” bid, …but, I know quite a few that would most likely disagree with that statement.

Do you think you should tell your partner EVERYHING? Past, present, or future, people have secrets. Whether it’s about your family, friends, or “little situations” you may have, like flirting over the net with other people, & not considering that to be a big deal, so they just don‘t mention it to there partner etc..  However, how do you know when your keeping too much to yourself? How do you feel about not sharing it all?

Personally, I think everyone is  entitled to some kind of privacy  in a relationship, as long as whatever it is you decide to keep to yourself, isn’t something that would hurt the other person that you‘re with, if they were ever to find out what you know somehow.

The "Roles" of Men & Women

It’s no shocker that these days the men complain about the woman being to independent. They wonder what happened to the “house wife” role, the woman who cooked, cleaned, raised the kids, & gave you back rubs + endless pleasure.

I hear that, but what happened to the “MAN”, the alpha males?! Seems like the men want there women to have there “womanly duties” on lock which is 100% understandable. But umm… “Honey, I need some more shelves in the kitchen can you put them up”.. Most likely not. Majority of the guys I know these days don’t even know how to change a tire!

So explain to me, which sex really lost sight of the “roles“ played in a relationship? Is it the “over independent women“, or the “I’m not Mr. Fix it men?”

Do you think the woman are to independent maybe because they can’t depend on men anymore?

Questions, comments, concerns? Leave your comments!

Sex before relationship status

Is it "ok" to have sex with someone before a real foundation is established??
We'll in my opinion it depends on the situation.

If °A. The dude you're seeing is young
& you actually want the relationship to go somewhere, then I would advise on you holding out, at least a little!
Let him court you and really show his interest in him wanting to take things with you further then a one night stand. I think a lot of young ladies have the misunderstanding that if you want a guy to really like you, you have to give it up to him quick. #False.
I think if you wait, you'll actually be able to build a foundation with that person where he'll learn to appreciate you instead of looking at you like action for the night. If he doesn't respect that you want to wait & take time in getting to know each other first, then honey, I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but he may not be that into you.

Which is OK! Life doesn't end, although in high school/early college it may feel that way, I promise you it's not.

Now if you're in situation °B. The dude you're seeing is an older man that knows who he is and what he wants (NOT ALWAYS but, usually 30yrs old & up....unfortunately) and you both are grown, then you may be able to move a little faster sexually with hopes of actually still being able to build a real relationship.

By that age usually men can read woman a little better and somewhat stop on the "games". If he wants to take you serious he'll let you know & vice versa. At the same time I'm not saying just go for the goal within first 45 minutes. Don't get me wrong, the "wooing" (we'll to me) is needed at any age. But when you're older you're playing on a different field. Where as the youngins hormones are still raging and they need to learn to focus on you instead of your va jay jay.

At the end of the day, carry yourself the way you want to be portrayed & treated. Pretty much, respect yourself and be respected. #ThatIsAll

You cant really just tell people to "go for there goals" ..they might not know how to, there is a way! (now some of you might obviously know this , but not everybody)

..Short-term, Medium-term & Long-term goals, you gotta set them & be serious about it. It's an organized way of keeping track of your progress to where you want to be in the future.

Short-term goals are something you set out to accomplish within a few days, to a few weeks, & they're something that you can start working on now.

Medium-term goals build on the foundation of the short-term goals. Its the halfway point the "OK I got step one done, I see the progress & I'm closer to my ultimate goal." Reaching this point really gives you a boost in believing that your long term goal/goals can really be achieved. This may take you a few months.

Long-term goals can take about a year or so. Planning and experience, knowledge and a great work ethic has got you here. Once you get to this step, its like having a hand shake with your future, you've worked hard to get here, & you want to stay & progress.

Now the time 2 set your goals are not an "exact science". Go at your own pace, with which you're comfortable with. Key points, MAKE SURE U WRITE THE SH*T DOWN, it'll make it visually easier for you to work on achieving the goals you have set, to help YOU get to where you WANT to be in the future!

Hope I helped someone out

Good luck & go set those goals!

"It's not you, it's me"

"It's not you, it's me." That is the lamest line ever invented! Although that line hasn't been used on me *looks up & thanks the lord* it has been on my friends & it's soooo wack to hear guys excuses. I was having a convo with one of my homegirls about a failed relationship she had, & the things dude told her we're unbelievable! But, as they say, love is blind.

If you're a man & you don't really have intentions on being with her, then why bug her in the first place?, (a.k.a sleep with her & bounce) They say dudes don't know what they want, & that's why they toy with chicks and play games till they "up and decide" to get serious. But in all honesty 75% of the time they already do know what they want, they just like the game. Why chase after a chick you don't plan on being with? Going through the motions and all!?

Guys, (the immature ones) need to get it together, if you don't intend on really being with a female, don't use her, pssh! don't use anybody! I'm not a know it all, but I do know karma is a bit*h, a really big one, & i've seen her bite some people in the a$$.

So even though I haven't been in the situation, if I ever heard that line or some lame excuse similar to it, my reaction wouldn't be so pleasant. I refuse to deal with that kind of bs. You're either in or out. Hurting people is not a hobby.

Have you ever been outside of your city?

photo taken from a flight

One thing that I love is that I can say that I've had the opportunity to travel a lot. If you've never been outside of your cities barrier, I think the best advice I can give is, save up a few bills, get up & just go. It shocks me every time I speak to somebody that's never been outside of there city or town. If you can do it, you should! Traveling opens up your mind, it lets you see how other places work, people, and even offer you opportunities that you may not have in your home town. Experience different cultures, try different cuisines, open your mind! It's truly a beautiful thing that we are all different. I feel like it's something you should appreciate. A person might not know everything, but everyone can teach someone something new!

"Hey! Why don't you pick on someone your own size!"

Bullying, when will it cease? Probably never, but looking at the news, cases seem to be getting worse & worse & the victims are getting younger & younger. Someone actually asked me to write about this topic which makes me realize that it is a problem that people see rising. It makes absolutely no sense to me, kids are being killed for the most ridiculous reasons. ....Well, maybe I shouldn't  say it that way. You remember when you we're in school, those now little petty problems, back then seemed like the biggest issue in the whole entire world & you felt like life was over! Yea, the tween years. Grr. We'll now those kids are really feeling like there issues are destroying there world more then ever, so they're committing violent acts to "handle them".

Are we not guiding our youth enough? Are we not taking on these roles as the big brothers and sisters like we should? Are we not being true mentors giving them someone to look up to, and making them feel like they have someone who's experienced but young enough for them to relate to, to be able to sit down & converse with?

Too many questions, tooo little answers, toooo little time. We have to figure something out people! Lend a helping hand, better yet an ear. Over 65% of all the youth's issues could have been handled by just sitting down with them and listening to what they have to say, advising them, and mentoring them, making them feel good about themselves!

I have a section in this blog called "What are Uuuu doing" and it's to highlight those who are making a difference in there community. Especially our youth. So if you're someone or know someone who wants to get there shine on, send in your story and a photo of your work and ill post it up!

Don't limit yourself to the space of a box

Ever wanted to try something new but were afraid to do so for w/e reason? Maybe a hobby you've always wanted to try, or a dream you want to chase that you feel might be "out of reach" because of what your family or friends say.

Limiting yourself to the space of a box because you're afraid of what other people will think is the worst thing you can do! I rather make 100 mistakes then not take a chance on something I wanted to do and have the thought floating in back of my mind "What if?" Yes, of course there is a possibility of "failing", but really, what is "failure"? To me it's not trying, if you've never given yourself the opportunity to win then you've already lost. I think if you've always wanted to do something & don't try it, that's failing, Doing what you want & it not turning out the way you expected it to be is not, because at least you tried.

At the end of the day you learn something from every experience you have. You take in the bad but don't forget to realize the good! You can always pull a positive something from any experience that you have, any lesson is a lesson learned. So don't shell yourself! If you only knew how many people doubted me & have given me the crazy face when I said "Hey, you know what, I think I wanna try this.." LOL! But I've done it, more then once, with thanks to the Lord and my hard headed-ness, sometimes I can get a little brave and take some big risks. I know it's not easy, but nobody said it was going to be either.

However the outcome, gain experience! gain knowledge! gain a I.D.G.A.F what you think I wanna try this & am going to attitude! Believe in yourself people! Taking that leap into the water and swimming to the other side can sometimes be the only option to get there if you don't have a boat, so don't be afraid of getting wet. Just do it!

REALITY CHECK: “Kid Soldiers”

How would you feel if your kid brother was kidnapped from your family and was forced to become a trained soldier, fight, torture, and kill others.

Sounds unimaginable doesn’t it. Believe it or not this happens in the world.

For example, increasing numbers of children are being recruited in Burundi, including some at age 10. In Colombia, as much as 30% of some guerrilla units are made up of children. In total,
at least 300,000 children younger than 18 are taking part in more than 30 armed conflicts worldwide.

Facts like these disturb my spirit so much, to the point where I can’t even explain it in words. I’ve seen documentaries on this, & it’s made me sick to my stomach.
Some children are used for suicide missions or particularly hazardous duty, such as leading through minefields.

Minefields!? WTF!

Some of you might be wondering, with them being so small, how can they even hold a weapon like a machine gun or riffle.. Technological developments in weaponry, especially small arms, have made semiautomatic rifles light enough to be used, and simple enough to be stripped and re-assembled, by a 10-year-old child.

Thinking about situations that are going on in the world like this, make me think, pray, & appreciate every second of life. How can people even worry about foolishness when we have world wide issues such as these? Does our generation even think about things like this?

All governments, including our own, need to take the necessary steps to ensure that the most vulnerable members of society are protected from the horrors of war. How, I don’t know. But we have to be able to do something.

Just my thought of the day.

Sometimes we need a REALITY CHECK.

"♪ All my single ladies! all my single.. ♪" ...wait, ...huh?!

SINGLE!!! .. umm why you ask?

Great personality, attractive, head on straight, so why are you single?

We'll ladies there could be many reasons to this. Are you too whinny, needy, greedy, jealous, careless, snoopy, have an effd-up attitude, not appreciative, not exciting in the bedroom, or confident enough? The list can go on & on...

BUT I've noticed a big one with a lot of woman in today's society. True: According to statistics, woman are becoming more successful then men.

With that said, before the man was "the man", and a woman was the woman. He brought home the bacon, and the woman made it.

But now that women are taking over that "bringing home the bacon" bit, our roles have been switched without it setting in our minds maybe? Successful women not only want there man to be the "Man"..the handyman the lover boy the etc.100+ roles, but also woman want there man to be MORE successful then them. "He can't just have a regular job, I want him to be a humanitarian and philanthropist!" (sarcasm, but girls do say that.)

But since in a lot of cases that isn't really whats going down,
Is it possible that you might have your standards set a bit to high and you might be just a little judgmental?
You want your man to be like A. he must also be B. Oh, oh, and he must have C.!! Sounds like you?
We'll that right there, just might be a little issue towards your situation. Why is it that when I hear females (sometimes including myself) talk about men, we sound like we're looking to buy a new trained puppy or something? Like "A good man will do this, and a good man will do that, and have this and be that, and he'll always pee on the newspaper etc.." o.O

Who are we to title someone and judge a man so quickly by only what we see on the outside, & his first visible characteristics?

I kind of feel like in this day and age we have skipped out on the whole "getting to know each other" phase. Everyone has a "reputation", & I think these days people feed into that waaay to heavy instead of getting to know a person for who they are, most importantly, for who they are to YOU.

Just because he failed with xo & xo, doesn't mean the same will happen with you two & just because he's not in a certain career, shouldn't be the end of the road for you two. The chemistry could be magic! So what, he made a few mistakes in the past, If everything is peaches and cream between you two, then who the he** cares what others think! Now don't get me wrong, don't be a blind bat either, you definitely want to pay attention to some "signs & says" (if 100 people are saying don't go left, its bad, then you might want to not go left ok *_*)  just don't completely go off of what a few people say, take a look at the situation for yourself and decide on how you feel about it without including outside opinions and suggestions.

At the end of the day, do whatever makes YOU happy! (as long as it's legal & doesn't involve harming others lol)

Betrayal.. When Is The "Second Chance Card" Thrown Out The Window?

Ahhh...the "homegirl or group of girl's drama"..the trials never end as history will steadily repeat itself because of the female hormones I guess. I for one, don't have many "homegirls" so I don't have this issue. BUT, this is an everyday case for most females. We all go through it, *cue surprised tragedy music* The best friend betrayal scenario.

So what do you do? Your bff that you thought you could trust with your life has now stabbed you in the back (for w/e reason)and you're debating on weather to give her a second chance or kick her to the curb.

They say to always forgive and forget, but does that mean to remain buddies if she slapped you in the face or let the situation go along with your friendship?

I guess it depends on how bad the "slapping" is. For example, let's say your bff sleeps with your boyfriend, w/e the situation is to how "it just happened" who's fault is it really? Without saying both, if you had to choose one to point the finger to, who would be the one to "blame". The man, or the "bff"?

Sticky situation.

Personally I would hear her out & try to understand, & if I just wasn't comfortable I'd keep her at a distance. But completely cutting her off just seems harsh, especially if she's been a really good friend for years. But some people take the whole loyalty thing to a different stage. Definitely would never bring the broad around my man though.. just in case.. lol.

Men.. Do You Really Know What You Want?

Guys say they want this or that, but I can’t help to have the thought in the back of my mind say “This dude really doesn’t know what he wants, he has no idea, how can I trust what he‘s saying to me right now.” hence to why they flip flop back and forth so much, when it comes to whatever, hobbies, decisions, etc..

I wonder why? Why is it that woman were made to mature faster then men? We know what we want at an “early” (I say early-mid-twenties) age, but guys at that age are still running around thinking with the “wrong head.” That really sucks. (& if you‘re a dude saying “I don‘t do that!” it might be because you don‘t have option A. B. & C. standing in front of you saying “you can have us all at once baby.“ ß hypocritically used hypocorism)

Lol seriously though, sometimes it just makes females want to throw in the towel and say “you know what, I’ve had enough of the games, I’m not dating again until the guy that comes around, I feel like deserves to even have a chance to be with me.” But then by doing that who are we really punishing, the opposite sex or ourselves? I say; At the end of the day you can hold out for as long as you want, but if you don’t take risk’s you’ll never find “him” or let “him” find you. But, as you know, with any risk you take there are the possible consequence.*sighs* What is a girl to do?

Is there a certain age where a man starts to realize what he really wants in life, & is that age usually to late? For example my brother will admit that he didn’t really mature till he hit 30. He’s a good guy, has his stuff together, but his “issue” was that he was a REAL “ladies man”, (b.k.a the dude was a man whore lol.) So sad to say, when he finally got his act together, the girl that he really wanted, he lost out on, because when he had her, he didn’t appreciate her.

So guys can say they know what they want, but 9/10 they’re honestly not sure. & Can you blame them? With all the options out there, all the different kinds of woman, ethnicities, sizes, types of personalities.. Uhh.. Maybe so cause we figure it out, but guys on the other had have a little more trouble doing so.
So honestly IDK! Maybe it’s not the guys fault, they were just made that way..(or does that sound like I’m making a lame excuse to cover there a**?)
Whatever the case there are just so many questions, with so little time. But in due time, questions are answered, they always are, I think us as humans are just impatient as sh*t. *shrugs*

Why Is It Anybody's Business??

Had a convo with a family member, we we're speaking about how people can become obsessed with other peoples business & there personal life.

I've never been one to "talk"..a.k.a speak on my personal life, because I never felt like it was anybodies business, but as you start to become a public figure/ being in the public EYE (boy does that eye ever stare so hard), people tend to have there nose on you a little harder. Why is that? & I know it doesn't happen to just the popular. It can be you, at work, you walk in & the whole office is whispering about who you left with or we're just talking to at the office party last night. Why is it that people care to gossip SO much?

I wonder if it makes the "gossipeas" (yes I made that word up) feel like they're in the know how about "what's going on in the neighborhood news" *shrugs* for whatever reason it is I personally think it's kinda weird o_0 .. But then again, who's fault is it really?

I've always said, "if you're a messy person, you're bound to get dirty" meaning if you are a girl that puts her personal life all out there, you're just giving people more of a reason to talk about you. Sometimes some girls can be attention hungry and then end up getting the wrong kind of attention cause they don't know how to keep there mouth shut. They just feel like they HAVE to tell someone, which I believe to be extremely childish.(Maybe that's why I don't have many female friends *shrugs*)If you keep yours to yourself, relationships, friendships, etc.will last longer. But to each it's own I guess.

At the end of the day I'm a Pisces, according the whole astrological thing I'm somewhat naturally secretive, never cared to share. But me being that way has always kept me out of trouble.

So who knows why some people feed off of that kind of energy. But I say, do what makes & keeps you happy who cares what other people think!

My advice? "Your business is your business, keep it that way, that's good business."
